There are 2 main beaches in Santa Catalina.

Playa Santa Catalina
Playa Santa Catalina is the main beach of the village. La Punta is located at the end of the main road that arrives from Sona.  This is the center of the fishing business in Santa Catalina. All of the scuba diving trips and fishing boats leave from Playa Santa Catalina. This beach has a view of Isla Santa Catalina and the big break called, "La Punta".

Playa Estero
Playa Estero is east of the main beach across Rio Estero at the end of the road which starts at the intersection in town right before you hit the main beach.  Playa Estero has less activity and is cleaner.  The  waves are great over here for beginners learning to surf.  It is easy to find surfboards for rent and even instructors.
